
The Jeju Free International City Development Center (Acting Chairman Kwak Jin-gyu, hereinafter referred to as JDC) announced that it held an inauguration ceremony for the '2025 JDC Citizen Participation Innovation Group for the Implementation of the New Government's National Agenda' (hereinafter referred to as the 2025 JDC Citizen Participation Innovation Group) at its headquarters (located in Cheomdan, Jeju City) on the 25th (Thursday).
The 2025 JDC Citizen Participation Innovation Group is an organization where citizens and experts participate together to plan and propose institutional innovation activities. It was launched to expand public participation in public institution innovation and identify actionable tasks linked to national agendas and institutional value systems.
The newly appointed Citizen Participation Innovation Group is comprised of citizens and advisory committee members selected through a public offering and screening process, and will be responsible for ▲proposing ideas for the organization's major projects ▲discovering innovative ideas ▲monitoring and participating in the organization's innovation activities.
The inauguration ceremony on this day proceeded in the following order: awarding certificates of appointment to members of the Innovation Group, explaining the main roles and future activity plans of the Innovation Group, sharing the direction of the organization's innovation drive, and discussing with attendees.
The attending committee members emphasized the importance of expanding communication with citizens, identifying feasible innovation projects, and promoting projects that coexist with the local community. They also urged that the results of innovation lead to tangible changes for citizens.
A JDC official said, “With the launch of this Citizen Participation Innovation Group, we will pursue innovative activities that closely link institutional strategies with national agendas and take the lead in realizing public value by directly reflecting citizens’ opinions,” adding, “We will continue to create changes that citizens can feel through continued participation and dissemination of results.”
