Brills (CEO Jin Jeon), a company specializing in robot automation solutions, announced on the 26th that it received the Chairman's Award from the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency at the 25th Korea Engineering Fair.
Hosted by Korea National University of Engineering and Technology (KNU), the event, themed "KNU: Connecting Industry and Academia and Opening a Future Leaping Forward with AI," took place on September 24th and 25th. A total of 50 works were displayed across various exhibition halls, including the Student Hall, the Industry-Academia Cooperation Hall, and other university halls. Brils, a leading company in industry-academia cooperation, participated in the Industry-Academia Cooperation Hall to showcase its technological capabilities.
The "AI Safety Control Palletizing Solution" presented by Brils uses AI technology to proactively detect and control potential hazards in collaborative environments between automated robots and workers. Through real-time CCTV-based video analysis, if a worker is not wearing protective equipment or a dangerous situation is detected, the robot automatically stops or adjusts its speed to prevent industrial accidents. This solution has proven to enhance workplace safety, increase productivity by 50%, and reduce defect rates by 70%.
“This award is a meaningful result achieved through industry-academia cooperation, and it is an opportunity for Brils’ technological excellence to be recognized externally,” said CEO Jeon Jin of Brils. “We will continue to strengthen R&D investment and industry-academia cooperation to continuously develop innovative robot solutions that prioritize safety in industrial sites.”
