The Seoul Economic Promotion Agency (SBA, CEO Kim Hyun-woo) announced that it has signed a business agreement with CJ ENM for joint hosting to ensure the successful hosting of the 2025 SEOULCon.
The Seoul Economic Promotion Agency (SBA) and CJ ENM announced that they signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly host the '2025 SEOULCon', which will be held at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul from Monday, December 29, 2025 to Thursday, January 1, 2026.
This agreement aims to promote Seoul's creative industries and lifestyles, including K-pop, K-beauty, and fashion, globally, while also increasing global awareness and maximizing Seoul's city brand value and economic ripple effect. Seoulcon is positioning itself as a next-generation K-culture platform that transcends online and offline channels, focusing on collaboration with individual media (influencers) as a core strategy.
SeoulCon, designed to spread Seoul's lifestyle and content globally, has strengthened its reach and influence by co-hosting the event with global IP powerhouse CJ ENM, and has reached an opportunity to take its level of experience to the next level.
Under the business agreement, SBA and CJ ENM will collaborate on all stages of the 2025 Seoulcon event, from planning to execution, including program composition, influencer invitation, publicity and marketing, and event operation.
As a global media company, CJ ENM possesses the largest global Hallyu source IP in Korea, and has proven its competitiveness in the global market and raised the status of K-content through large-scale events such as MAMA AWARDS and KCON.
CJ ENM is the optimal partner for the Seoulcon event, which aims to spread the multifaceted charm of Seoul, based on Korea's creative industries and Hallyu IP, to the world. CJ ENM is expected to contribute to opening new horizons for the Seoulcon event through its killer content IP and global event know-how.
Since its inception in 2023, SeoulCon has grown into a global influencer festival in its third year. With new programs and innovative operating methods each year, the festival solidifies its image as a "K-Culture Hub Seoul."
Held for the first time in 2023, SeoulCon saw the participation of 3,161 influencer teams from 58 countries around the world, participating in a variety of programs related to Seoul's lifestyle, including fashion, beauty, and K-POP, and creating 3,590 pieces of content on social media, which were shared a total of 430 million times globally.
Additionally, despite the national mourning period declared during the 2024 Seoulcon event due to the Jeju Air passenger plane crash, which resulted in the cancellation or postponement of approximately half of the events, 3,498 influencer teams from 52 countries participated, spreading Seoulcon and Seoul-related content 320 million times around the world.
Kim Hyun-woo, CEO of the Seoul Economic Promotion Agency, said, “Seoulcon serves as a bridgehead for Seoul’s creative industries to expand onto the global stage,” and added, “Through our collaboration with CJ ENM, we will deliver Seoul’s lifestyle and creative industries to fans around the world in greater depth.” Park Chan-wook, head of CJ ENM’s convention business division, added, “As a global K-culture content producer, we will leverage our expertise and network to elevate Seoulcon’s brand value and contribute to making Seoul a hub of global cultural trends.”
