
Krafton Inc. (CEO Chang-han Kim) announced that on September 24, Dr. L. Murugan, the Indian Minister of Information and Broadcasting, visited its headquarters in Seoul and had a friendly conversation.
This visit was designed to reaffirm India's status as a key strategic market for Krafton and to discuss ways to expand policy cooperation and business synergies between the two companies.
Minister Murugan, who concurrently holds the posts of Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, has wielded influence in media and policymaking in India. The Minister reportedly praised Krafton's contributions to the Indian gaming industry, citing its local service, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), and its investments in local startups.
The meeting was attended by key executives, including Krafton CEO Chang-han Kim and Krafton India CEO Hyun-il Son. In-depth discussions were held on topics such as Krafton's business performance in the Indian gaming market, the current state of startup investment, and the Indian government's gaming industry policy direction. Minister Murugan mentioned the potential for future cooperation between the two countries, not only in the gaming industry but also in education, technology exchange, and media and entertainment.
CEO Kim Chang-han said, “It was a meaningful opportunity to discuss the future direction of the gaming industry with Indian government officials,” and added, “We will continue to contribute to the development of the ecosystem in India through game development, investment, and educational programs.”
