
The Korea Artificial Intelligence & Software Industry Association (Chairman Cho Jun-hee, hereinafter KOSA) announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Chonbuk National University (President Yang Oh-bong) on September 24 at the Chonbuk National University Seoul office in Mapo-gu, Seoul, to foster talent in the artificial intelligence (AI) and software (SW) industries.
This agreement aims to strengthen industry-academia cooperation in advanced industries and establish a foundation for practical education. The signing ceremony was attended by key officials from both organizations, including KOSA Chairman Cho Jun-hee and Chonbuk National University President Yang Oh-bong.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will jointly pursue the following initiatives: ▲developing and operating undergraduate and graduate school curricula in cutting-edge industries such as AI and software; ▲discovering and implementing joint industry-academia-research projects; ▲operating field-oriented internships and industry-academia training programs; ▲discovering and supporting startups; and ▲cultivating talent based on global industry-academia cooperation. They also plan to explore collaborations to foster regional industrial development, including identifying joint projects linked to local communities.
Through this agreement, KOSA plans to strengthen its cooperative relationship with universities and focus on developing and disseminating educational content to cultivate practical talent required in industrial settings.
Association Chairman Cho Jun-hee stated, “This agreement will serve as an opportunity to expand the foundation for fostering AI and software talent nationwide through collaboration with regional hub universities,” and added, “The association will continue to advance the industry-academia cooperation model and contribute to strengthening the nation’s digital competitiveness.”
