AJ Networks Co., Ltd. , a specialized industrial and logistics equipment rental company, announced on the 25th that it received the Minister of Environment Award in the green industry and ESG management category at the government awards ceremony for '2025 Eco-friendly Technology Promotion and Consumption Promotion'.
The 'Eco-Friendly Technology Promotion and Consumption Promotion Award' is hosted by the Ministry of Environment and is awarded to individuals and organizations that have contributed to environmental improvement through technology development, product distribution, and the spread of eco-friendly consumption culture.
AJ Networks has been recognized for its contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through the eco-friendly conversion of industrial equipment. According to the company, over the past five years, 88.7% of new forklifts purchased have been converted to electric forklifts, reducing carbon emissions by up to 80% compared to diesel forklifts and achieving an overall carbon reduction of approximately 380,000 tons.
Additionally, the construction equipment operations center in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, has built a 669-kilowatt (kW) self-consumption solar power plant, providing 100% of its operating power. The company explains that this will reduce greenhouse gases by a level comparable to planting approximately 180,000 trees annually.
Additionally, the logistics sector has introduced a circular system that recycles waste pallets into new pallet production, reducing raw material use and landfill waste. This system has reportedly reduced carbon emissions by approximately 32,000 tons over the past five years.
AJ Networks also announced that it is carrying out various environmental protection activities and community contribution projects, such as creating forests in elementary school classrooms, planting nectar plants to protect endangered species, and removing plants that disrupt the ecosystem.
A company official said, “We see this award as a partial result of our efforts to transition to eco-friendly technologies and practice ESG management,” adding, “We plan to continue to pursue sustainable management strategies and strive to fulfill our social responsibilities.”
