CN CEO Park Sang-yong (Chairman of the Busan-Ulsan Tourism Venture Association) attended the 'BOUNCE 2025' unconference held at BEXCO Exhibition Center 1 in Busan from September 22nd to 23rd and shared the development direction of the local tourism startup ecosystem and a message for entrepreneurs.
BOUNCE, now in its ninth year, is Asia's leading startup conference. Each year, approximately 5,000 attendees share insights on industrial technology trends, startup experiences, and global collaboration opportunities. This year's program featured a variety of topics, including smart maritime, open innovation, global meetups, and investment IR. The unconference sessions, where speakers and audience members freely exchanged opinions, garnered particular attention.
In this session, CEO Park Sang-yong introduced the founding background and key activities of the Busan-Ulsan Tourism Venture Council. He explained, "The Council currently serves as a platform for approximately 120 tourism startups, and we are making various efforts to enhance the industry's maturity and secure global competitiveness." He also emphasized the organization's role by sharing examples of the composition and operation of the executive branch, advisory group, and expert committee.
He also suggested three key elements for startup sustainability and growth: ▲designing a long-term business model, ▲securing network-based talent, and ▲cultivating a culture of respect and acceptance of failure. Park emphasized the global expansion potential of local tourism startups and the council's commitment to support, stating, "Entrepreneurship is a process of creating a sustainable system based on positivity and challenge."
The presentation resonated with the young entrepreneurs and startup officials present, and C&N stated that the event served as an opportunity to strengthen its vision as a global partner connecting the tourism industry and startups.
