Idea Partners (CEO Kim Soo-hwan), a venture capital firm, announced on the 23rd that it has participated as an investor in the "Regional Startup Ecosystem Lycon Fund," managed by accelerator Crypton (CEO Yang Kyung-jun). The investment amount is undisclosed.
The "Regional Startup Ecosystem Like Fund" will be established with a total budget of 13 billion won and aims to discover, nurture, and support the growth of local startups. Idea Partners' investment is significant because it demonstrates the private investment firm's active participation in fostering a regional innovation ecosystem.
Idea Partners has been steadily developing, nurturing, and investing in startups, focusing on the Jeonbuk region, and has established a collaborative system with local startups. Through this fund investment, Idea Partners plans to strengthen its partnership with Crypton and lay the foundation for local startups to grow into broader markets.
Idea Partners CEO Kim Su-hwan said, “Through this investment, we hope to create an opportunity for local startups to take a leap forward,” and added, “We will continue to be an investment firm that grows together with local companies.”
Meanwhile, Crypton, which operates the fund, is a leading domestic accelerator that has supported the scale-up of local companies such as 'Jumi Party' and 'Banseok Industry'. Through this fund, it is focusing on establishing a virtuous cycle structure in the local startup ecosystem and spreading the 'Glocal (global + local) startup innovation model'.
