
The Jeju Free International City Development Center (Acting Chairman Kwak Jin-gyu, hereinafter referred to as JDC) announced on the 23rd that the JDC's Ieum Job Project was selected as an excellent model for leading senior job creation and received the Minister of Health and Welfare Award at the '2025 Senior Job Creation Week Event' held at the Westin Chosun Seoul Hotel on the 22nd.
This event, hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and organized by the Korea Senior Citizens Human Resources Development Institute, was designed to raise public awareness of senior citizen employment and social activity support projects and increase public consensus on the policy.
This award recognizes JDC's contributions to improving the quality of life of seniors by expanding their community participation and providing jobs. In particular, JDC has contributed to intergenerational communication and resolving community issues by offering customized positions beyond simple job creation.
Additionally, JDC is continuously striving to create jobs suited to an aging society through capacity-building training for seniors and the development of new job positions.
Park Young-ha, JDC Public Relations and Cooperation Director, said, “JDC will work harder to ensure that the senior job creation project goes beyond simple livelihood support and establishes itself as a meaningful activity that enhances the self-esteem and happiness of seniors.” He added, “JDC will continue to be a strong partner in the local community as we open up a better tomorrow for seniors.”
