ThanksCarbon Presents Project Results at the 2025 Greenhouse Gas Reduction Investment Forum

AI climate tech company ThanksCarbon (CEO Haewon Kim) announced on the 22nd that it had presented the status and achievements of its international greenhouse gas reduction project at the '2025 Greenhouse Gas International Reduction Investment Forum' held at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the 18th.

This forum was co-hosted by the Greenhouse Gas International Reduction Industry Association, the Korean Standards Association, and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and was attended by project developers, investment and purchasing companies, and officials from related organizations. The event featured lectures on the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's support system for international greenhouse gas reduction projects and trends in carbon-neutral technology development. Six companies, including ThanksCarbon, shared the achievements of their greenhouse gas reduction projects.

ThanksKabone presented the current status and achievements of the AWD project, currently underway in Cambodia's Battambang Province, aimed at reducing methane emissions from rice farming. Furthermore, they highlighted the project's limitations, including an opaque Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) system, greenwashing issues, and difficulties in rice field water management. They proposed "Haimdall," a digital MRV solution based on satellite and AI technology, to address these challenges.

"Heimdall" is a monitoring service that precisely verifies greenhouse gas reduction effectiveness by analyzing satellite imagery, climate and soil data, and crop patterns. Based on this, ThanksCarbon has completed nine pilot projects in Vietnam, Cambodia, Bangladesh, and other countries and developed large-scale reduction projects.

Meanwhile, Thankskabon also participated as a panelist at the Grow Asia Investment Forum 2025, held in Singapore on the 17th. This forum, an international platform co-founded by ASEAN and the World Economic Forum (WEF), focused on the sustainable transformation of Asia's agri-food systems.

Kim Hae-won, CEO of ThanksCarbon, moderated a panel discussion in the session titled "Current Status and Prospects of Agricultural Technology Investment in Southeast Asia," and was the only Korean company to participate. Kim discussed ThanksCarbon's ongoing rice methane reduction project in collaboration with small-scale farmers in Southeast Asia, its carbon reduction verification system utilizing Heimdall, and the need for a financial and investment model for a sustainable transition.

Thankskabon was selected as the top 2 among 90 global agtech companies in the 'Grow Asia Innovation Challenge' last year.

CEO Kim Hae-won said, “We are promoting nature-based solutions (NbS) greenhouse gas reduction projects in various regions of Asia using technologies such as Heimdall and are achieving results,” and added, “We will continue to share our technologies and achievements at major events at home and abroad, and expand cooperation to achieve a sustainable transition in Asian agriculture and solve climate issues.”
