UAMtech (CEO Myung-Rae Ham), a company specializing in unmanned aerial vehicles and launch systems, announced on the 22nd that it has attracted investment from global accelerator Genaxis and plans to strengthen its research and development and mass production system centered on its core businesses of high-speed jet unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), hydraulic and pneumatic launch systems, and medium- to long-distance cargo eVTOLs.
UAMtech plans to leverage this investment to enhance its product portfolio and actively expand its business targeting the three major markets of defense, civilian, and export. The company is recognized as the sole supplier of high-speed jet UAVs and launch platforms, including trailers, vehicles, and shipboard platforms.
Currently, UAMtech is leveraging its technological prowess to secure market leadership in high-growth fields such as high-speed jet targets, military drones, anti-drone defense systems, and long-range logistics drones. Its commercialization strategy is a phased expansion roadmap that includes: ▲building market trust through collaborations with Korean Air and others (Phase 1); ▲monetizing key products (Phase 2); and ▲M&A and overseas market expansion (Phase 3).
In addition, the company's competitiveness is also considered to be enhanced by securing mass production infrastructure, including the introduction of the AS9100 certification system, an aerospace quality standard, ERP-based production management, and the establishment of an integrated assembly and testing system.
“This investment will further enhance the reliability of mass production of jet UAVs and launch systems, as well as the safety and efficiency of cargo eVTOLs,” said Ham Myung-rae, CEO of UAMtech. “We will meet quality standards that meet global customer demands and expand our export-focused portfolio through domestic and international partnerships.”
A Genaxis official said, “UAMtech is demonstrating high technological maturity in various fields such as high-speed jet unmanned aerial vehicles, hydraulic-based launch systems, and eVTOLs that combine rotary takeoff and landing technology,” and added, “We plan to actively support the implementation of a step-by-step strategy encompassing defense, civilian use, and exports.”
