AI-based deep tech startup Intellicia (CEO Seung-guk Baek) announced on the 17th that it was finally selected for the Fast Track program of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 'Deep Tech TIPS'.
"Deep Tech TIPS" is a program that discovers and supports startups with technological innovation and market growth potential in cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and biotechnology. Intellicia received high scores in the first round of technology evaluations, recognizing the technological prowess of its synthetic consumer generation technology and its alternative consumer research solution based on small-scale ensemble models. Consequently, it was exempted from the second round of marketability evaluations and selected as a fast-track company.
Intellicia operates "The Survey," an AI-powered survey and data analysis platform. The platform uses a large-scale language model (LLM) to create synthetic consumers trained on real consumer response data. By analyzing their behavior, it then recreates insights into preferences, awareness, and usage patterns. This approach is gaining attention as a next-generation research method that could replace traditional consumer surveys.
With this selection, Intellicia has secured a total of KRW 1.7 billion in government and private support, including KRW 1.5 billion in R&D funding for technological advancement. It also anticipates various growth opportunities, including expansion into global markets, attracting investment, and expanding its overseas network.
Intellicia was founded in 2023 by Dable founder and CEO Seung-kook Baek, along with key technical personnel. Baek previously founded Dable, which provided natural language processing and unstructured data analysis for thousands of media outlets across seven Asian countries. He sold the company to Yanolja in 2021.
The company stated, “This TIPS selection is a recognition of our unique technological prowess and potential for market expansion,” and added, “We plan to pursue global dominance of AI-based synthetic consumer technology through collaboration with domestic and international partners.”
