Alchera (CEO Young-gyu Hwang) announced on the 16th that it was selected as the implementing organization for this year's 'AI Hub Artificial Intelligence Learning Data Upcycling Project' hosted by the National Intelligence Information Society Agency (NIA).
This project goes beyond simply reprocessing AI hub data released between 2020 and 2022, focusing on redesigning and building (upcycling) it to fit the latest AI models.
The goal is to maximize the utilization of public data and strengthen the foundation for AI service development across industry and research. Notably, South Korea is the third country in the world to develop an LLM, and the recent launch of a national AI project has garnered increasing public interest.
This project is expected to contribute to improving the performance of domestic LLMs in this context, while also serving as a crucial stepping stone for securing specialized areas and differentiated AI competitiveness.
Alchera, as a member of the AIWorks consortium, will optimize video and image learning data for use in the latest AI model environment based on its accumulated vision AI technology and know-how in constructing generative AI benchmark data.
In this project, image data released on the AI Hub will be upcycled and rebuilt into QA data, and CoT (Chain of Thought) processing, a generative AI learning data labeling technique that has recently attracted attention, will be applied beyond simple quality verification.
This will play a strategic role in enhancing AI competitiveness across industries by redesigning and reconstructing existing data into a form suitable for learning the latest models.
Alchera has achieved proven results in various industries, including healthcare, based on its accumulated AI data construction know-how and technological prowess. Operating its own data centers in Korea and Vietnam and securing a dedicated workforce, Alchera possesses the capabilities to manage the entire data lifecycle, from large-scale data collection, refinement, labeling, and verification.
Furthermore, Alchera has been officially recognized for its data quality verification capabilities as the sole provider of the "Semantic Accuracy Verification Service for Ultra-Large-Scale AI Training Data," hosted by the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) in Korea. Alchera directly verifies training data for domestic AI companies and supports the advancement of high-quality, data-based models. Furthermore, it is contributing to the revitalization of the Korean AI industry and strengthening its global competitiveness.
Alchera CEO Hwang Young-gyu said, “This project will be an important turning point that rediscovers the value of public data and opens up new possibilities for use in the era of generative AI.” He added, “Alchera, which has the highest level of capabilities in Korea in the field of video and image data, will support AI industry innovation through upcycling and further strengthen its global competitiveness.”
