Delight Room (CEO Jae-myung Shin), which operates the global sleep and wake-up app Alarmy, has acquired Vox AI's exercise log app 'Fleek'.
This acquisition is part of a growth strategy centered on DARO, an app advertising monetization solution. Following the launch of DARO in 2023, Delight Room has adopted a new business model that focuses on identifying promising apps and applying the solution to increase advertising revenue. For example, the company achieved a threefold increase in revenue for the couples messenger app "Between," acquired in February of this year.
Flick features features specifically designed for recording and managing strength training. Users can receive rest and exercise time guidance according to their workout program and record the number of sets, repetitions, and weights. Within three years of its launch, it achieved 600,000 cumulative downloads and has steadily expanded its subscriber base, primarily among men in their 20s and 30s. Delight Room, based on its growing loyal customer base and high usage frequency, is expected to be highly effective in other applications.
The acquisition decision was also influenced by the fact that Flick is a Flutter-based app. Flutter, an app development framework, has recently been gaining attention for its compatibility with most mobile and PC operating systems (OS). Delight Room plans to strengthen its technical capabilities to ensure Daro can effectively support various development languages, including Flutter, and expand its services across the entire app ecosystem.
Vox AI CEO Hwang Seong-hyeon said, “With this sale, we plan to focus on the development and commercialization of our AI call center solution, Vox AI,” and added, “We hope that Flick and Delight Room will be able to deliver value to more users.”
Delight Room CEO Jae-myung Shin said, “We plan to continue to discover apps with stable user bases and apply Daro to them,” adding, “We hope that Flick will also become a successful monetization case following Between.”
