
On the 11th, Hanwha Robotics CEO Jeong Byeong-chan and Wia Machine Tools CEO Joo Jae-jin signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for strategic cooperation in the field of automation solutions at the Hanwha Future Technology Research Institute in Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do.
The agreement includes ▲ supply of machine tool automation solutions ▲ mutual support for installation, maintenance, and training ▲ joint participation in global exhibitions.
Under this agreement, the two companies will introduce a turnkey automation solution combining collaborative robots and machine tools to the market. Furthermore, the two companies will actively share their global distribution networks and establish a joint support system to ensure customers can adopt the solution with confidence.
Hanwha Robotics plans to enhance the competitiveness of its automation solutions through collaborative robot technologies, including "Robot AI Vision" and "Visual Safety." Wia Machine Tools, leveraging its experience in building machine tool automation solutions, will provide optimized design support for integration with collaborative robots.
The two companies will unveil their first collaborative achievements at EMO 2025, the world's largest machine tool exhibition, taking place in Hanover, Germany, starting on the 22nd. They will showcase two automation solutions combining Hanwha Robotics' collaborative robots and WIA Machine Tools' machine tools. They plan to continue jointly exhibiting at major domestic and international exhibitions next year.
A Hanwha Robotics official said, “We anticipate that practical cooperation will be possible as both companies have reached a consensus on the synergy that collaborative robots and machine tools can create,” adding, “We will advance automation in the manufacturing industry with collaborative robot solutions based on innovative technologies.”
