Busan Changgyeong Hosts 'Busan-Kitakyushu Startup Exchange'

The Busan Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (hereinafter referred to as Busan Changgyeong, CEO Yongwoo Kim) hosted the "Busan-Kitakyushu Startup Exchange (STARTUP NIGHT)" on September 10th at the Workation Center on the 24th floor of the Asti Hotel Busan. Approximately 50 domestic and international entrepreneurs and investors participated in the event.

This event was held as 'W-Global DAY', a global special session of the Busan-style workation W-DAY in September, and served as a networking venue between the Busan and Kitakyushu, Japan startup ecosystems, connecting regional startup ecosystems and exploring future business collaboration possibilities.

The event featured pitching sessions by Kitakyushu entrepreneurs, an introduction to the Busan and Kitakyushu startup ecosystems, and networking opportunities for entrepreneurs from both countries. Participants shared their business models and collaboration opportunities, leading to lively on-site partnership discussions. Japanese startups, in particular, presented their Busan market entry strategies, drawing significant attention from investors and startup support professionals.

Attendees gave the event positive feedback, saying, "It was a meaningful opportunity to cross borders and directly discuss potential collaborations," and "I think it could serve as a bridgehead for future joint projects or overseas expansion." The event went beyond simple meetings and led to substantive discussions on collaboration, demonstrating a deep understanding of global networking.

Busan Changkyung CEO Kim Yong-woo said, “This exchange meeting was an important first step toward directly connecting the Busan and Kitakyushu startup ecosystems,” and added, “We will continue to develop W-DAY into Asia’s representative workation hub where global entrepreneurs from Busan and Japan can interact.”
