Sulfide-based solid electrolyte specialist 'Solivis' (CEO Shin Dong-wook) announced on the 11th that it has been selected as a prospective unicorn company for the 'Special Guarantee Project' of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to foster global unicorn companies, and will receive scale-up funds of up to 20 billion won, which will allow it to stably secure the funds necessary for expanding mass production facilities and advancing solid electrolyte technology.
The 'Preliminary Unicorn Special Guarantee Project' is a project in which the Ministry of SMEs and Startups provides up to 20 billion won in scale-up funds to foster promising small and medium-sized enterprises into global unicorns with a corporate value of over 1 trillion won. This year, 79 companies applied, recording a competition rate of 5.3 to 1.
Solibis emphasized, “This selection as a potential unicorn means that the marketability and commercialization potential of sulfide-based solid electrolyte technology has been verified at the national level,” and “We will accelerate investment in facilities and human resources to lead the global solid-state battery materials market.”
Following its achievement of KRW 42.2 billion in cumulative investment last year, Solibis was recently selected as a company implementing a heterogeneous technology convergence project for the KRW 5 billion national project, the 'Materials and Components Technology Development Project'. In addition, it was recognized for its corporate growth and innovation at the '2025 Innovation and Startup Nation Korea International Forum' (SNK 2025) held on the 10th, and is continuing its aggressive steps toward becoming a unicorn company, including winning the 'Korea Economic Association Chairman's Award'.
Solibis' core competitive edge lies in its proprietary "3rd Generation Wet Synthesis Mass Production Platform," a production process developed in-house. Currently, the company holds over 100 core patents related to all-solid-state battery technology. This platform boasts exceptionally high production efficiency for high-performance solid electrolytes, enabling rapid customization of particle size, ionic conductivity, and other characteristics. Its easy facility expansion allows for flexible multi-variety and mass production.
CEO Shin Dong-wook said, “Solivis’ selection as a prospective unicorn by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, selection as a national project, and receiving the Korea Economic Association Chairman’s Award are great achievements that have recognized the technological prowess we have accumulated so far at the national level.” He added, “Based on continuous technological innovation and a strict quality control system, we will continue to expand our solid electrolyte mass production facilities and solidify our position as a leading company in all-solid-state battery materials that will drive the popularization of all-solid-state batteries globally.”
