Meisa (CEOs Choi Seok-won and Kim Dong-young), a drone and satellite space analysis AI platform company, announced on the 9th that it has been selected for the 2025 SME Technology Development Support Project, hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. This project aims to apply AI technology to construction sites in collaboration with Lotte Engineering & Construction, the requesting organization.
The SME Technology Development Support Project is a research and development (R&D) program with a total budget of 117.9 billion won this year. This is a designated public offering program where SMEs propose technology development projects to match the needs of large and mid-sized companies with the actual needs of the industry. It focuses on addressing the practical innovation needs of the industry.
Meisa's mission involves developing an AI digital twin solution for construction sites. This includes creating 2D and 3D models using drones and 360-degree camera footage, developing AI for 2D drawing and 3D BIM-based construction error and progress analysis, and implementing integrated on-site data management, AI-based user interfaces, and automation capabilities. This will enhance the accuracy of process error and progress management and provide a data analysis and visualization environment that managers and headquarters decision makers can utilize in real time.
Lotte Engineering & Construction will be responsible for field testing and feedback, while Meisa plans to enhance the solution by leveraging cutting-edge spatial information and AI technologies. Since 2023, Lotte Engineering & Construction has been utilizing the Meisa platform to monitor and manage construction sites nationwide, and through this collaboration, they will pursue the development of next-generation smart construction solutions.
“We will advance beyond digital visualization and data analysis at construction sites to AI-based decision-making and prediction,” said CEO Meisa Naboyeop. “Through our collaboration with Lotte Engineering & Construction, we will build an AI solution that can be immediately utilized on-site.”
