The Giving Plus Foundation of the Milal Welfare Foundation (CEO Namgung Gyu) announced on the 9th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with Yeongdeungpo-gu Office and Lotte Welfood to support child care facilities in connection with each other in the first conference room of the main building of Yeongdeungpo-gu Office in Seoul.
Through this agreement, the three organizations plan to jointly promote projects to improve child welfare, including ▲providing food kits for joint sports competitions at local children's centers and ▲supporting book purchase costs for our neighborhood childcare centers.
As part of this collaborative project, food kits will be distributed to approximately 300 children participating in the Regional Children's Center Joint Sports Competition held in Yeongdeungpo-gu on October 18th. Furthermore, book purchase costs will be supported at 13 neighborhood childcare centers in Yeongdeungpo-gu, improving the children's reading environment.
This project will be funded by a portion of the proceeds from the sale of food products donated by Lotte Welfood to Giving Plus. Giving Plus is a social contribution-oriented sharing store that sells new products donated by companies and uses the proceeds to create jobs for vulnerable populations and support local communities. Operating 26 stores nationwide, it is recognized as an eco-friendly sharing model that aligns with corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Namgung Gyu, Executive Director of Giving Plus, said, “It is very meaningful to be able to promote a project that provides practical help to child welfare through cooperation within the local community,” and added, “We will continue to expand local mutually beneficial sharing activities with various partners in the future.”
Wi Se-ryang, head of Lotte Welfood’s communications division, said, “I think this agreement is meaningful because it allows us to provide practical support to children in the region,” and added, “We will continue to engage in social contribution activities with the local community in the future.”
Yeongdeungpo-gu Mayor Choi Ho-kwon said, “This agreement, in which businesses, non-profit organizations, and local governments collaborate to support local children, is a model example of public-private cooperation,” and added, “Yeongdeungpo-gu will continue to make various efforts to create an environment where children can grow up safely and healthily.”
