
The "2025 Global Content Conference," sponsored by Gyeonggi Province and co-hosted by the Gyeonggi Content Agency (President Yongseok Tak) and the Korea Producers Association (Chairman Jaeyoung Kim), took place on September 5th at the Champagne Hall of the Novotel Ambassador in Suwon. Approximately 350 domestic and international content creators and industry professionals attended the event, discussing the latest trends and industry issues, focusing on AI and short-form content.
Under the theme "AI and Short-Form: Designing Tomorrow," the conference featured a keynote address by Sharon Lee, a product designer at the US AI startup Runway, on the changing landscape of broadcast production. Furthermore, Won-kook Kim, CEO of Hive Media Corp, presented the value and future potential of storytelling in a special session titled "Story, Transcending Boundaries: The Power of Stories Transcending Platforms."
The event began with opening remarks by Kim Jae-young, Chairman of the Korea Producers Association, and congratulatory remarks by Tak Yong-seok, President of the Gyeonggi Content Agency. In the AI session, Lee Sang-wook, Team Leader of the MBC C&I Smart Media Team, and Yang Hyo-geol, CEO of Dost11, presented on the potential and ways to utilize AI in the video production process. In the short-form session, Nan Yafeng, Vice President of China's Crazy Maple Studio, and Jeong Jae-hoon, CEO of ByteDance, introduced global short-form platform strategies using the examples of ReelShot and TikTok, respectively. Lee Min-seok, CEO of WhyNot Media, shared examples of short-form production.
Gyeonggi Content Agency President Tak Yong-seok said, “This event was an important opportunity to explore the potential of AI and short-form content in the rapidly changing content industry,” and added, “Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Content Agency will continue to actively support the development of related industries.”
Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi Content Agency and the Korea Producers Association will host the 'Global Content Conference' annually starting in 2023, providing a platform for strengthening the capabilities of domestic and international broadcasters and content producers and promoting international exchange.
