Futureplay Selected as Operator for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' "Tips Global Specialized" Program

Future Play (CEO Oh-hyung Kwon) , a startup investment and incubation specialist, announced on the 8th that it was finally selected as the operator of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 'TIPS Specialized (Global)'.

This selection is significant in that it establishes an institutional foundation to systematically support the overseas expansion of promising startups. Starting in 2024, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will designate existing TIPS operators with expertise in areas such as global, regional, coexistence, and climate technology as "specialized operators." This designation will strengthen the fostering of strategic industries and high-growth companies. FuturePlay has been selected as an operator in the "global" category.

Designated as a specialized operator, FuturePlay receives various support benefits, including priority allocation of recommendation rights for startups in the relevant field and customized growth programs. This allows FuturePlay to more effectively support the scale-up of startups targeting the global market.

Since being selected as a TIPS 2nd-generation operator in 2014, FuturePlay has proven its operational capabilities by maintaining an "Excellent" rating for 11 consecutive years. To date, it has executed cumulative investments exceeding KRW 80.3 billion and boasts a diverse portfolio of successes, including the IPOs of Noel, SOS Lab, Innospace, and Neurofit, and the M&A of EPD Biotherapeutics and Mandunmand.

Futureplay CEO Kwon Oh-hyung said, “For the past 10 years, Futureplay has played the role of a producer who has led deep-tech startups to the global stage,” and “With this designation as a global specialized TIPS operator, we will accelerate the global leap forward of Korean startups through local verification, global cooperation, and commercialization strategies.”
