Mashup Ventures announced on the 4th that it has been selected as a global specialized operator for the TIPS program hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
TIPS is a private investment-led technology startup support program that identifies and intensively nurtures promising startups with global market-leading technologies. To expand support for startup growth, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups selected specialized operators from among existing TIPS operators based on their expertise in areas such as global expansion, deep tech, and support for local startups.
Mashup Ventures, an investment firm comprised of Daum co-founder Lee Taek-kyung and partners with global entrepreneurial experience, has made early-stage investments in over 200 startups since its founding. Selected as a TIPS operator in 2018, the firm has been dedicated to discovering and supporting promising technology startups. Last year, it received a commendation from the Minister of SMEs and Startups.
In this evaluation, Mashup Ventures received high marks for its global expansion capabilities, including its track record of overseas expansion, support programs, and partnerships. Notably, incubators such as generative AI platform "Luton," AI virtual studio platform "Bible," and ambient AI startup "Sortrix" have attracted investment from Silicon Valley investors.
Mashup Ventures, selected as a global specialized TIPS operator, will receive benefits such as additional allocation of TIPS company recommendation rights, and plans to support incubation company mentoring, local legal and regulatory advice, scale-up, overseas networking, and investment connections in cooperation with global partners in the U.S., Japan, and Southeast Asia.
Lee Taek-kyung, CEO of Mashup Ventures, said, “Our strength lies in helping companies design and grow their businesses from the early stages, targeting the global market,” adding, “We will go beyond simple financial support and provide comprehensive support, from strategic planning to local settlement for promising startups.”
