Woodumji Farm Co., Ltd. announced on the 3rd that its subsidiary Woodumji E&C Co., Ltd. signed a smart farm sales agency contract with Japan's JFE Engineering Co., Ltd.
Under this contract, Udumji E&C will supply the design and core materials, while JFE Engineering will be responsible for selling greenhouse materials in Japan.
Udumji E&C's entry into the Japanese market is expected to contribute to Udumji Farm's goal of achieving 300 billion won in sales by 2027. In particular, sales from the Laos subsidiary are also expected to contribute, increasing its global market share.
JFE Engineering is a comprehensive engineering company that handles a number of projects in the environmental and energy fields, including waste-to-energy power plants, water treatment plants, natural gas-related plants, steel structures such as bridges, industrial machinery (turbines, engines, etc.), and power plants powered by renewable energy sources such as geothermal, biomass, and solar power. It entered the smart farm market in 2013.
In the smart farm field, we are currently working as a regular Japanese dealer for Priva, a Dutch environmental control system company, focusing on new installation, maintenance, and after-sales service of Priva systems.
The industry expects that the spread of smart agriculture in Japan will produce synergy effects for both companies.
Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) is accelerating the expansion of its smart agriculture demonstration project to 217 regions nationwide, and the private market is also growing.
According to research, the size of Japan's smart agriculture market is expected to more than triple from $1.2 billion in 2024 to $4.1 billion in 2033.
With this contract, Woodeumji Farm plans to secure references encompassing local governments, educational facilities, and private farms, and provide customized design packages and operational consulting tailored to land and climate conditions.
A representative of Udumjipham said, “Through the sales agency contract with JFE Engineering, we have integrated our design and material supply system and our sales system in Japan,” and added, “We will gradually expand into the global market, starting with the success story in Japan.”
