Crowdworks joins the Korea Physical AI Association's Data Division.

AI tech company Crowdworks announced on the 1st that it will join the data division of the Korea Physical AI Association, a non-profit organization that will officially launch in October. The company plans to lead discussions on data project planning and standardization within the physical AI industry and contribute to the advancement of the industry ecosystem.

Crowdworks actively supports the association's activities, leveraging its experience in building data for diverse physical AI-based applications, including autonomous robots, smart toys, pet robots, and cooking assistant robots. Specifically, by leveraging its multimodal AI data building capabilities, which integrate language, video, audio, and visual information in multiple languages, Crowdworks plans to establish a data collection and processing system based on Vision-Language-Action (VLA). By securing high-quality data, Crowdworks aims to strengthen the competitiveness of the entire industry.

The Korea Physical AI Association, a privately-led non-profit organization, was established with approval from the Ministry of Science and ICT and is scheduled to officially launch in early October. The association plans to pursue activities such as ▲proposing government policies and securing budget, ▲supporting the VLA simulator platform and demonstration projects, and ▲exchanging information and building networks among member companies.

Physical AI, a type of artificial intelligence capable of making decisions and performing physical operations in real-world environments, is rapidly expanding its application across diverse industries, including autonomous vehicles, logistics robots, and smart manufacturing. Real-world applications, such as manufacturing process optimization, defect rate reduction, and logistics automation, are also steadily increasing.

Policy support is also continuing. Last August, the government announced plans to invest a total of 2.6 trillion won in key industries, including robotics, automobiles, and shipbuilding, to foster AI-based industrial transformation. Of this, 2 trillion won will be dedicated to building "AI factories" based on physical AI.

Kim Woo-seung, CEO of Crowdworks, said, “Physical AI is a next-generation AI technology that reacts and operates in real-world environments based on data,” and added, “Together with the association, we will support domestic companies to secure data competitiveness and expand their presence in the global market.”
