The Ministry of SMEs and Startups is recruiting participants for its "2025 SME AI Transformation Best Practices Contest."

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Han Sung-sook, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups) announced that it will be recruiting SMEs for the '2025 SME AI Transformation Best Practice Contest' starting on Thursday the 28th to promote the AI transition of SMEs and small business owners by discovering and disseminating cases of SMEs and small business owners that have achieved excellent management performance by introducing and utilizing AI technology.

Small and medium-sized enterprises that have achieved management innovation results such as increased productivity and sales through the introduction of AI should confirm the jurisdiction of the 13 regional SMEs and Startups Administrations (hereinafter referred to as regional offices) and submit the application form, self-diagnosis of applicant qualifications, best practices, pledge, and supporting documents to the relevant regional office manager by Thursday, September 18.

In the preliminary round (September 19-30), regional offices will evaluate the faithfulness, innovation, introduction performance, expansion and sustainability of best practices through document screening, and 1st-level regional offices will recommend 3 companies and 2nd-level regional offices will recommend 2 companies to the final round (October 13-31).

The preliminary judging (October 13-31) will select one grand prize winner, three excellence awards, and six excellence awards through presentation evaluation, and an awards ceremony (Minister's Award, etc.) and presentation of best practices will be held in November.

In addition to receiving the Minister of SMEs and Startups Award and the Chairman of the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency Award, the selected companies will also receive bonus points when participating in SMEs and Startups' R&D support programs. Furthermore, their inclusion in a collection of best practices will provide benchmarking opportunities for companies hesitant or reluctant to adopt AI, contributing to its widespread adoption.

Minister Han Seong-sook said, “Through this AI Transformation Best Practices Contest, we expect that many small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners will improve their awareness of AI adoption through benchmarking of best practices, and that they will see tangible results such as improved productivity and increased sales through AI adoption.”
