Lotte Ventures (CEO Seungwook Kim) announced on the 22nd that it is recruiting companies to participate in the 3rd 'L-CAMP JAPAN' program, which supports promising domestic startups to enter the Japanese market together with Lotte Ventures Japan and the Busan Center for Creative Economy and Innovation.
"L-CAMP JAPAN" is a representative Korea-Japan cross-border acceleration program led by Korean corporate venture capital (CVC). This program is in its third year, following the first in 2023 and the second in 2024. The program has supported the entry of Korean startups into the Japanese market by providing business meetups, IR pitching, and open innovation opportunities with local Japanese corporations, venture capitalists (CVCs/VCs), and startup ecosystem stakeholders.
This third program focuses on practical business collaboration and investment attraction in the Japanese market. In particular, Ryo Ogawa, CEO of Timee, a Japanese unicorn startup, will participate directly to share his Japanese market entry strategy and startup growth insights.
Furthermore, we will strengthen ties with the local open innovation ecosystem through collaborations with major Japanese corporations and institutions, including Megabank, AWS, and KDDI. We will also support participating startups in securing both investment and partnership opportunities through one-on-one meetings and IR sessions with local investors and partners.
During the program, the Korea Startup Center (KSC) Tokyo under the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) and the Content Korea Lab (CKL) Tokyo under the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) will be visited to introduce the infrastructure to support Korean startups in Japan.
Selected companies will receive support for local participation expenses (accommodation, transportation, etc. per person), business meetings with Japanese VCs, CVCs, and large corporations, onboarding insight sessions for the Japanese market, and partnership matching. Furthermore, after the program concludes, they will receive follow-up mentoring and priority review by Lotte Ventures for future investment rounds.
The program is open to domestic startups established less than seven years ago. Companies in the lifestyle (fashion, beauty, etc.), content, food, and AI/robotics sectors seeking to enter the Japanese market and attract investment are eligible to apply. The application period runs from August 22 to September 14, 2025, and the program will be held in Tokyo, Japan for two nights and three days, from October 20 to 22. Details can be found on the Lotte Ventures website .
A Lotte Ventures official stated, “L-CAMP JAPAN is positioned as a strategic program to help domestic startups enter the Japanese market,” and added, “We will continue to expand our overseas expansion platform to support the growth of innovative startups in key global hubs, including Japan.”
