Muhayu establishes Japanese subsidiary, launching full-scale attack on AI document inspection and recruitment solutions market.

Muhayu (CEO Dong-ho Shin) , an AI-based natural language processing (NLP) technology company, announced on the 27th that it is establishing a local corporation in Tokyo, Japan and is making full-scale entry into the Japanese market.

The establishment of this corporation is part of a strategy to address the growing demand for document plagiarism and fraud detection driven by the proliferation of generative AI. Demand for AI-based document inspection and personnel evaluation solutions is also growing, particularly in Japan, a country known for its conservative education and hiring culture.

Since 2020, Muhayu has been operating a Japanese-localized plagiarism detection service, "CopyMonitor." This is the Japanese version of "CopyKiller," which has approximately 10 million users in Korea. It features an AI analysis model that reflects the linguistic characteristics of the Japanese language. It also includes a generative AI detection function, "GPT Killer," which simultaneously identifies plagiarism and AI-generated documents.

Through collaboration with local partners, Muhayu has secured clients from major Japanese educational institutions, including Meiji University. Currently, over 220,000 individuals from approximately 80 institutions are using the service, and some universities are mandating the use of CopyMonitor for academic assignment submissions.

With the establishment of this corporation, Muhayu plans to sequentially expand the introduction of its AI-based recruitment assessment service "Prism" and AI interview solution "Monster" to the Japanese market, in addition to CopyMonitor. Through these initiatives, the company aims to build an integrated AI solution ecosystem that supports corporate clients throughout the entire process, from document creation to recruitment.

The Japanese subsidiary will be headed by Kim Hee-soo, Vice President of Muhayu, who will oversee local customer service and technical support. Muhayu plans to expand its supply chain in Japan through strategic partnerships with local companies and educational institutions and enhance its service offerings through the development of localized, customized features.

Prior to establishing its Japanese subsidiary, Muhayu had been leading the market with its AI document inspection solution, "CopyKiller," used by 3,485 organizations and approximately 10 million people in Korea, as well as its AI document evaluation solution, "Prism," and its AI interview solution, "Monster." The company is also continuing to expand its global presence, launching "CopyKiller China" in the Chinese market.

“The establishment of our Japanese subsidiary is a significant milestone in Muhayu’s global expansion strategy,” said Kim Hee-soo, Vice President. “Based on our localized technology and existing customer experience, we plan to rapidly expand into the Japanese market and expand our services across Asia.”
