KOTITI Testing & Research Institute (KOTITI) and KG Mobility (KGM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the development of mobility and battery technology and are embarking on mutual cooperation.
This agreement aims to combine KOTITI's nationally recognized testing and inspection capabilities with KGM's mobility technology to enhance the utilization of the KOTITI E-Mobility Center in Pyeongtaek and create synergy between the two organizations. The signing ceremony was held at the KOTITI E-Mobility Center and was attended by key officials from both parties, including KOTITI Director Kim Min and KGM ECO Power Center Managing Director Shim Jun-yeop.
KOTITI is a specialized organization that provides nationally accredited testing and inspection and corporate consulting in various fields such as automobile parts, electrical and electronics, textiles and clothing. It established the E-Mobility Center in Pyeongtaek in 2023 and completed the battery testing building in May 2025, securing next-generation battery testing and certification capabilities.
Through this agreement, the two organizations will collaborate in a variety of areas, including mobility testing, analysis, and quality inspection; R&D collaboration; the development and standardization of new certification testing standards; next-generation battery testing and certification; technology and information exchange; and external promotional activities. In particular, KOTITI expects that sharing its Gwacheon and Pyeongtaek testing facilities with KGM will provide tangible support to the industry, including access to existing equipment, shortened testing schedules, and cost savings.
Additionally, the KOTITI E-Mobility Center will serve as a hub for research on electric vehicle and hybrid high-voltage batteries, supporting the strengthening of the global competitiveness of the domestic mobility and battery industries.
A KOTITI official said, “Through this agreement, we will combine our testing and certification capabilities with our technology development know-how to support responses to domestic and international policies and regulations, and lead the development of next-generation mobility and battery technology.”
