PIIE (Co-CEOs Jeong-il Choi and Hyeon-jun Kim) , a company specializing in AI-based manufacturing intelligence solutions, announced on the 21st that it was finally selected as an 'AI Factory Specialized Company' hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology Evaluation and Planning (KEIT).
The "AI Factory Specialist" certification system is designed to discover and foster companies developing and supplying AI autonomous manufacturing technologies. It was introduced with the goal of expanding the smart manufacturing ecosystem. Starting this year, certification has expanded beyond existing large-scale manufacturing to include small-scale manufacturing sites, franchises, and the distribution and logistics sectors.
PiI provides AI-based vision inspection systems, data-driven smart factory solutions, AI agents, and ultrasonic inspection technologies for the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry, supporting manufacturing intelligence across various industries. This certification recognized its completeness, supply performance, industry reliability, and growth potential.
In particular, it possesses a solution portfolio applicable to various industries such as semiconductors, secondary batteries, automotive, medical, and logistics, including the development of next-generation technologies in the field of non-destructive testing (NDT), and is strengthening technological scalability and market applicability through the 'AI+X (industry convergence)' strategy.
Last May, PIE established the "PIE AI R&D Campus" in Pangyo Techno Valley 2 and is focusing on developing advanced AI technologies and fostering specialized talent. Its subsidiary, industrial AI specialist Aha Labs, was also selected as a specialized AI factory company, and technological synergy between the two companies is expected.
Choi Jeong-il, co-CEO of PIIE, said, “This selection is an official recognition of PIIE’s technological prowess and industrial impact,” and added, “We will actively introduce AI autonomous manufacturing technology to various cutting-edge industries and contribute to building a sustainable smart manufacturing ecosystem.”
