Bomchan selected as a 'Tips' by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups

Bomchan (CEO Ji-Heum Park), a startup that operates an eco-friendly construction and landscaping materials distribution platform, announced on the 21st that it was finally selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' private investment-led technology startup support program 'TIPS'.

This selection was made following a recommendation from accelerator New Paradigm Investment. Following its pre-A round investment in May, Bomchan has been recognized for both its technological prowess and marketability. As a TIPS recipient, Bomchan will receive up to 700 million won in government support over the next two years. This includes 500 million won in research and development (R&D) funding and 200 million won in overseas marketing and startup commercialization funds.

For this TIPS project, Bomchan plans to pursue the "Development of a Supply Chain AI System for Stone Demand Forecasting and Distribution Optimization." This project aims to improve the accuracy of demand forecasting and address chronic industry inefficiencies, such as overstocking and delivery delays, through specialized AI technology for stone distribution.

New Paradigm Investment, the operator of TIPS, said, “The landscaping and interior design market is growing at an average of 5-7% per year, and the global stone market is growing at more than 4% per year.” They added, “Based on the performance secured in the B2C market, Bomchan is seeking to expand into B2B and B2G, and if it strengthens its technological competitiveness through TIPS, its growth potential is high.”

Bomchan currently operates an eco-friendly materials distribution platform that leverages sustainable material curation, supply chain digitization, and a data-driven recommendation system. Going forward, the company plans to focus its R&D efforts on AI-based matching technology, transaction automation systems, and the advancement of its eco-friendly materials database. Furthermore, the company is collaborating with major domestic construction companies and local governments and securing distribution channels for overseas brands.

Founded in August 2024, Bomchan is driving digital transformation and supply chain efficiency in the industry through its AI-based stone distribution lifecycle management system. Currently, the company is rapidly establishing itself in the B2C market, boasting the largest online distribution market share, a customer rating of 4.9, and a cost-to-sales ratio of 25.1%.

Key technologies include ▲stone standardization DB ▲LSTM-based lead time prediction model ▲demand forecast-based ordering system ▲logistics optimization algorithm ▲real-time supply chain control system.

CEO Park Ji-heum said, “In an era where responding to the climate crisis and reducing carbon emissions are crucial, we want to create a structure that allows for the easy distribution of sustainable materials,” and added, “Through TIPS, we plan to further accelerate technological advancements and market expansion.”
