Gaudio Lab , an AI audio specialist company, announced on the 20th that it will participate in the 'AI Dubbing Specialized K-FAST Expansion Support Project (hereinafter referred to as the K-FAST Expansion Support Project)' hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Association for ICT Promotion. Gaudio Lab is an AI technology company that was selected by half of the consortiums ultimately selected to carry out this project, and will provide content localization technology to this project.
The K-FAST Expansion Support Project aims to overcome the domestic media industry crisis caused by the shifting global OTT ecosystem. It targets the rapidly growing global FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming TV) market, a next-generation OTT. Leveraging AI-based localization technology, the project will establish a K-FAST channel specializing in AI dubbing, expanding K-media and content to global markets while simultaneously advancing AI media technology.
As the government invests a total of 8 billion won to expand K-content globally through free streaming platforms, Gaudio Lab is conducting high-quality AI dubbing using its content localization and re-production AI solution, Gaudio Studio Pro.
Gaudio Studio Pro is an AI solution specialized in content distribution. It handles the distributed tasks required for content export, such as dubbing, background music replacement, cue sheet creation, and localization, all within a single platform. Its marketability and usability have already been recognized, with collaborations with major broadcasters facilitating the export of popular dramas and entertainment content.
Additionally, AI automatically performs multilingual dubbing, essential for content localization, while simultaneously reproducing the mastering effects of the original, enhancing the sophistication of the dubbing. As a result, production costs are dramatically reduced compared to traditional, fragmented manual processes, reducing localization and re-production time, which typically takes about a month, by over 90%.
Gaudio Studio Pro allows re-production with just the video's master track (a single, merged file without individual elements). This is because its world-class AI audio separation technology automatically separates dialogue, music, and sound effects. AI audio separation is essential for the localization of diverse content, and is used in various fields such as cleanly extracting dialogue sections for dubbing or detecting and replacing audio that may have copyright issues. Gaudio Lab's AI audio separation technology won a CES 2024 Innovation Award, and its AI audio recommendation and automatic placement system also won a CES 2025 Innovation Award.
Gaudio Lab CEO Oh Hyun-oh stated, "The success of content localization hinges on speed, accuracy, and high quality. Equipped with globally proven audio source separation technology, Gaudio Studio Pro has been recognized for these essential elements, leading to our receiving numerous requests from consortiums." He added, "We will contribute to the spread of K-content with a greater sense of responsibility."
