Plantinet (CEO Taejoo Kim), an IT solutions company, announced on the 14th through a public disclosure that it recorded consolidated sales of KRW 25.1 billion, operating profit of KRW 3.5 billion, and net profit of KRW 3.5 billion for the first half of 2025. This represents a 51% increase in sales and a 309% increase in operating profit compared to the same period last year, demonstrating a significant improvement in overall performance.
This performance increase is attributed to increased sales of harmful content blocking solutions and improved profitability of subsidiary Albatross Investment.
To address the changing internet landscape and strengthen its technological competitiveness, Planetnet recently established an in-house "AI Tech Lab" and advanced its harmful content blocking technology based on its proprietary lightweight large-scale language model (sLLM). This technological advancement has enhanced its ability to block a wide range of harmful content and has positively impacted related sales growth.
Additionally, Planet is currently pursuing domestic and international patent applications for technology that identifies QUIC (Quick UDP Internet Connections), a next-generation Internet communication protocol, and plans to combine this technology with its AI deep learning capabilities to enter the Asia-Pacific region's security market in the future.
Meanwhile, its subsidiary Plantiem is seeking to expand its performance by strengthening marketing for its digital magazine streaming service, "Moazin." Starting with KT's budget phone brand Minigate on the 28th of last month, new plans incorporating "Moazin" were launched by M Mobile, Skylife, and others.
To celebrate the launch of the M Mobile plan, a promotion is underway, offering access to approximately 1,100 international magazines at no additional charge until the end of 2025. Subscribers can enjoy unlimited access to approximately 1,400 domestic and international magazines during their subscription period. Furthermore, the company is developing partnership benefits linked to the "NEW Galaxy AI Subscription Club" and pursuing collaborations with SK Telecom, LG U+, and others.
'Moazin' provides a total of 1,400 types of content, including famous overseas magazines such as Cosmopolitan and Elle, and is a platform equipped with AI-based curation functions and text-to-speech (TTS) functions, expanding its user base based on content diversity and technological convenience.
A Plantinet official stated, “This first half performance is the result of visible results from new growth businesses along with existing core businesses,” and added, “In the second half, we plan to continue growth by advancing AI technology and expanding the B2C market of our content platform ‘Moajin.’”
