
Megazone Soft, an affiliate of AI and cloud specialist Megazone Cloud, is joining hands with Anypen, a developer of extended reality (XR) technology, to jointly develop an AI-based metaverse platform.
On the 14th, the two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the Megazone Industry-Academia-Research Center in Gwacheon to develop a Google Cloud-based AI-integrated metaverse platform. Through this agreement, the two companies plan to develop a new type of metaverse service and expand its market by combining Google Cloud's technological infrastructure, Megazone Soft's AI and cloud capabilities, and Anypen's content production technology.
MegaZoneSoft will provide technical consulting and infrastructure design based on Google Cloud's latest AI platforms, Vertex AI and Gemini models, and will help strengthen the capabilities of working-level staff through regular technical exchanges and training programs.
Anypen will begin planning and developing services for its metaverse platform based on its generative AI content production technology, and through this collaboration, it plans to simultaneously pursue technological advancements and entry into domestic and international markets.
Additionally, the two companies plan to continue their collaboration in various areas, including discovering new business models through joint technology development, launching new AI-based services, and establishing global expansion strategies.
Anypen CEO Jeon Jae-woong said, “We plan to launch a platform that turns users’ imaginations into reality based on generative AI technology in the third quarter of this year,” adding, “We expect a synergy effect between the technologies of both companies through this collaboration.”
Hong Du-hyeon, head of MegaZoneSoft's Google Cloud business unit, said, "AI technology is a key element in the metaverse platform specialized in real-time data processing," and added, "We will enhance the competitiveness and scalability of the platform through practical technological collaboration between the two companies."
“This collaboration is a case where Google Cloud’s AI technology is being applied to practical service innovation,” said Ji-Seong Ji, President of Google Cloud Korea. “Based on a secure and flexible cloud infrastructure, we will support the development of next-generation metaverse and immersive content.”
