Vacatio Wins 2025 Red Dot Design Award

Vacatio (CEO Ji Hyun-jun), which operates the AI-based space recommendation service 'Placelist', announced that it has won the '2025 Red Dot Design Award', one of the world's top three design awards.

This award is interpreted as a result of high praise for the new interpretation of the existing GUI-centered map interface by applying AI, and for the service planning direction that defined the essence of AI technology as 'recommendation'.

Placelist is Korea's first interactive map app based on a large-scale language model (LLM). It uses natural language conversation to understand the user's context and preferences, providing location recommendations without the need for refined search terms. A notable feature is the introduction of a learnable pet dog character agent, which enhances the personalized experience through emotional interaction elements.

As users use the app, the AI agent gathers information through conversations and provides more sophisticated and personalized recommendations. This UX design has been praised for not only achieving design perfection but also substantially improving the user's browsing experience.

“Placelist is a service that goes beyond the functions of a map app and proposes a new way of exploring that makes everyday life like a journey,” said Hyun-Jun Ji, CEO of Bakatio. “With this award as an opportunity, we will further strengthen our service competitiveness in the global design market.”
