SelectStar attracts 20.5 billion won in investment, bringing total investment to 37.9 billion won.

SelectStar (CEO Kim Se-yeop) , an AI data and reliability verification solution company, announced on the 12th that it has attracted approximately KRW 20.5 billion in Series B investment, bringing its total investment to KRW 37.9 billion.

This round of investment involved domestic investors such as KB Investment, KB Securities, Shinhan Venture Investment, Kiwoom Investment, SBI Investment, Samsung Securities, Mulim Capital, and Infobank Partners, as well as international investors such as Salesforce and ACVC Partners. The investors reportedly highly valued SelectStar's technological competitiveness and potential for global expansion.

In particular, Salesforce, a leading global CRM company, has made a strategic investment based on its technological prowess and market-leading capabilities in the AI data field, and the partnership between the two companies is expected to accelerate Selectstar's overseas expansion.

Since its founding in 2018, SelectStar has provided data collection and processing solutions necessary for AI development. It currently has approximately 320 clients, including Korea's top five conglomerates and major financial institutions. Starting in 2023, SelectStar will offer a license-based training dataset sales service, surpassing KRW 5 billion in cumulative sales. Recently, SelectStar has expanded its service offerings to include multilingual and multimodal datasets.

Earlier this year, we launched "Datumo Eval," Korea's first automated generative AI reliability verification solution. This solution is currently being implemented and operated by financial institutions such as Shinhan Bank, Woori Bank, and Nonghyup Bank. In August, we plan to host a global webinar on "AI Reliability Verification" with Citigroup's AI chief.

SelectStar was recently selected as a member of the SKT consortium for the 'Independent AI Foundation Model Development Project' hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, and will be in charge of model stability verification data and overall data part.

Meanwhile, SelectStar plans to use this Series B investment as a catalyst for technological advancement and global market entry. Furthermore, the company has proven its technological prowess through various domestic and international projects, including being selected for Forbes Korea's "2025 Korea AI 50," operating Korea's first "Generative AI Red Team Challenge," and co-hosting the MWC 2025 "Global AI Red Team Challenge."

Kim Seung-hwan, head of the Global Investment Division at KB Investment, said, “SelectStar is a company with a solid technological foundation in the early stages of AI reliability verification,” and added, “We expect continued growth in an environment where AI commercialization is accelerating.”

“This investment is part of Salesforce’s strategy to expand AI investment in Korea,” said Shaw Yamanaka, Senior Analyst at Salesforce. “We expect to create strong synergy through collaboration with SelectStar in the global AI agent ecosystem.”
