
The Korea Artificial Intelligence and Software Industry Association (Chairman Jo Jun-hee) 's Super-Large AI Promotion Council held a regular meeting on August 11 and announced that it had decided to reappoint the co-chairs of LG AI Research Institute and Naver Cloud.
Since its launch in 2023, the Super-Large AI Promotion Council has grown into the largest private council in Korea, with 153 leading AI companies participating. LG AI Research Institute and Naver Cloud have served as co-chairs since its inception, and at this regular meeting, their reappointments for a second term were unanimously approved by approximately 40 participating companies.
During this meeting, the council also discussed future directions for its activities and plans for cooperation with the private sector. Key initiatives proposed included: ▲ identifying AI demand sources and strengthening collaboration between companies; ▲ suggesting improvements to policies, systems, and regulations, including the AI Basic Act; ▲ holding public awareness events such as the AI Festa; and ▲ stimulating collaboration between industry, academia, and research institutions.
Chairman Cho Jun-hee of the association said, “The council was able to establish itself as a representative platform for the domestic AI industry in a short period of time thanks to the active participation of its member companies,” and added, “I hope that through my reappointment as chairman, the council will continue to serve as a center for exchange and cooperation, contributing to securing the global competitiveness of the domestic AI industry.”
