Aguni announced on the 22nd that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with the Turtle Fly Social Cooperative, a non-profit organization. Through this partnership, the two companies will cooperate with the following goals: ▲ year-round production of high value-added crops ▲ improved efficiency in production and distribution ▲ realization of social value.
Aguni is positioning itself as a technological hub for agriculture by utilizing smart agricultural technology, and is cultivating various crops based on the ‘Air Dome’ that is not affected by climate change and the ‘Growwide’ modular system that it developed itself. The company possesses core technologies related to agriculture and plays an important role in the production and distribution of major strategic crops. Through this agreement, Aguni aims to expand its production base and build an air dome production building, and plans to establish a subsidiary to contribute to creating jobs for the disabled and realizing social value.
In particular, Aguni operates its subsidiaries as standard workplaces for the disabled to support the disabled in their participation in the production process, thereby helping the socially disadvantaged achieve economic independence and supporting corporate clients in their ESG management practices. In addition, it plans to contribute to the revitalization of the local community economy by building infrastructure necessary for the employment of the disabled and agricultural production.
Turtlefly Social Cooperative is a non-profit organization that creates jobs and provides a social safety net for people with developmental disabilities, the elderly, and culturally disadvantaged groups, and is responsible for agricultural production and distribution.
“Through this agreement, we will be able to ensure a stable supply of agricultural products and realize ESG values through employment of the socially disadvantaged,” said Kwon Mi-jin, CEO of Aguni. “Going forward, we plan to focus on collaboration with biomaterial companies and production of functional raw materials.”
