Vivident attracts seed investment

Vivident announced on the 22nd that it had attracted seed investment worth 1.5 million dollars (about 2 billion won). This investment was participated by domestic venture capitals such as Hashed, Mashup Ventures, The Ventures, and Modehouse, as well as global funds such as Sfermion, Z Venture Capital, Decima Fund, and Titan Fund.

Vivident is preparing the service 'MoeLive', a platform that uses generative AI technology to create and train animation-style virtual characters and interact with users. The service aims to launch a beta version in the first half of this year.

CEO Kim Gyu-dae led the launch marketing of Enpixel’s flagship title ‘Gran Saga’ and has experience successfully leading game studio investment and development at Krafton and Unopened. The Vivident founding team is comprised of experts who have worked at Krafton, Hyperconnect, Neosapiens, Superton, and Unopened.

The existing virtual character industry has been stuck in a 'semi-virtual' form where real people act behind the characters, but Vivident is overcoming these limitations through complete virtual characters utilizing AI technology, real-time live streaming, and multi-user participation systems. In particular, it plans to provide a new form of entertainment experience that combines Japanese animation and Korean K-POP culture.

Kim Gyu-dae, CEO of Vivident, said, “We have a goal to go beyond AI characters and create a new type of character IP that combines technology, content, and community,” and “Through this investment, we plan to focus on developing the ‘Moelive’ service and launch it simultaneously in Korea, Japan, and the U.S. within the year.”

Eunwoo Park, partner at Mashup Ventures, said, “Vivident is a team of proven professionals in the entertainment and technology industries who are proposing a new paradigm for the virtual character market by utilizing AI technology,” and “We expect that, in line with the global growth of K-content, they will lead the global AI entertainment market beyond Korea.”
