iAccel, the investment division of Infobank Co., Ltd. (CEO Taehyung Park), a provider of AI solutions such as AI Contact Center (AICC), AI-based messaging service, and autonomous driving service, announced that it has signed a strategic partnership with Thailand's Entrepreneur Advisory Center (EAC) to support the growth of global startups.
The signing ceremony took place at the EAC headquarters in Bangkok and was attended by iExcel CEO Hong Jong-cheol, Partner Lee Han-soo, EAC co-founders Dr. Woranun Thaworanun and Troy Schooneman.
EAC is Thailand’s first integrated startup support platform, and works with Kingsford Securities PLC and Kudun and Partners (KAP), which have listed more than 50 companies on the Thai stock market, to provide investment, consulting and legal advisory services for the successful growth of startups.
This partnership aims to support startups to successfully establish themselves in the global market by combining EAC’s expertise in the Thai market with its global network and investment platform linking Singapore, Japan and the United States.
In particular, we plan to create investment opportunities through the TIPS program operated by Infobank and the local network of EAC, and take the lead in building a startup ecosystem in Southeast Asia beyond Korea and Thailand.
At the site, the 'Infobank 1st Global IR and Partnership' session was held with the participation of Infobank portfolio companies O2O (CEO Ahn Sung-min), SNE Company (CEO Jang Se-hun), Wondermove (CEO Kim Tae-won), and APMDs (CEO Kim Jong-jung) and two Thai startups, and active exchanges and discussions on cooperation took place with the attendance of about 20 people including investors, startups, and government officials from both countries.
“This partnership will provide a link between Korean and Thai startups and contribute to strengthening their global competitiveness,” said Hong Jong-cheol, CEO of iExcel. “We will actively support them to discover new investment opportunities and enter the global market.”
Next, iExcel Partner Han-soo Lee expressed his aspiration, saying, “The collaboration between Infobank and EAC will provide new opportunities for the growth of the startup ecosystems of both countries.” He continued, “We will continue to expand cooperation with various partners, including the U.S., Singapore, Japan, and Thailand, to help Infobank portfolio companies achieve success on the global stage.”
Meanwhile, Infobank has been operating a global accelerator Plug and Play and an accelerating program since last year, and has also been serving as a bridgehead for entry into the global market by strengthening the business capabilities of domestic startups through MOUs with local investment firms in Japan and Singapore.
