Sensestone Signs Business Agreement with NNSP

Sensenstone and NNSP announced that they signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 21st to jointly develop and commercialize an authentication gateway to strengthen integrated authentication and access control security of programmable controllers (PLCs) in the automated process of the operational technology network (OT network).

Through this agreement, the two companies plan to create an environment where authentication can be improved without changing PLC devices and take the lead in expanding OT security certification.

Through collaboration with global PLC manufacturers, Senstone will work to strengthen the level of authentication security and simplify the authentication process based on the verified OTAC (One-Time Authentication Code) technology. Based on its experience in developing the first physical one-way network solution and intelligent OT security control solution in Korea, NNSP will develop a gateway that enables authentication using only OTAC without modifying the PLC device.

“We have been accumulating CPS security technology by researching various industrial protocols for over 10 years,” said Kim Il-yong, CEO of NNSP. “By combining Senstone’s OTAC technology and NNSP’s CPS security technology, we will block unauthorized access to PLCs and provide strong access control.”

“As the importance of OT security grows, this collaboration will be of great help in overcoming the limitations of existing password methods and providing a safer and more advanced PLC security environment,” said Yoo Chang-hoon, CEO of SensenStone. “By combining the technologies of both companies, we will lead the global PLC authentication security market.”

Through this partnership, the two companies plan to jointly respond to domestic and international organizations and companies that are trying to build a PLC security environment. In addition, they plan to actively consider supplying in an OEM manner through cooperation with global PLC manufacturers.
