Delight Room, which operates Alamy, announced that it recorded sales of 33.7 billion won and operating profit of 19 billion won in 2024.
Delight Room is known as a 'centaur-type' company. This concept likens startups that have grown rapidly without receiving investment to centaurs, half-human and half-animal, and has become the standard for promising new companies that have emerged since the startup investment boom. It is a concept derived from the term 'unicorn', which refers to a company that has achieved a corporate value of 10 trillion won.
Delight Room, founded in 2013, surpassed the triple-digit sales mark with sales of 13 billion won in 2021, and reached the 30 billion won mark in just three years. It boasts excellent financial soundness, with its operating profit margin remaining above 50% for the past three years.
Delight Room's rapid growth is based on the recruitment of excellent talent and investment in their smooth adaptation and growth as key strategies. As a result, sales per person reach 1 billion won, which is an increase of more than 50% from 600 million won three years ago. As of the end of 2023, Delight Room's organization size is 34 people.
Delightroom's main source of revenue is the 'Alami' app. Alami is an app that helps improve the overall sleep process with sleep-inducing music, sleep analysis, and mission alarms, and has 4.6 million monthly active users (MAU). Based on this, it has built a stable revenue model through in-app advertisements and paid alarm functions. In addition, it has been operating 'DARO (Delightroom Ad Revenue Optimizer)', an advertising monetization solution for app developers since 2023.
Delight Room CEO Jae-myung Shin said, “We plan to move forward with the goal of becoming a global company representing the sleep tech and ad tech fields,” and “We will continue to strive to provide greater value to users through the growth of Alamy and Daro.”
