Korea Organ Donation Agency, E-Circulation Governance and Resource Circulation Agreement Signed

The Korea Organ Donation Agency (Director Sam-Yeol Lee) announced that it signed a business agreement with E-Circulation Governance , a non-profit recycling company, for the 'Modu-Bium, ESG Sharing Resource Circulation Program' to promote the collection and recycling of waste electrical and electronic products.

The 'All-Empty, ESG Sharing Resource Circulation Program' is a program that returns ESG value creation results through eco-friendly disposal of electrical and electronic products, which are unused assets of companies and organizations, so that they can easily practice circular economy and carbon neutrality amid growing interest in the corporate environment and social demand for ESG management.

The main contents of the agreement are ▲Transfer of waste electronic products to E-circulation governance ▲In-house guidance and promotion of waste electronic products collection and recycling system ▲Safe treatment of waste electronic products and eco-friendly material recycling. Through this agreement, the two organizations agreed to contribute to the promotion of recycling of electronic products and activate the collection and recycling system through information exchange and mutually beneficial cooperation.

At the signing ceremony, as part of the ESG sharing initiative, donations of waste electronic products were made through participation of institutional assets and employees. By donating around 20 types of computers, monitors, and fans, 253 kg of recycled resources were produced, and resource recycling activities were actively carried out to reduce greenhouse gases by 556 kg CO2-eq.

Director Lee Sam-yeol of the Korea Organ Donation Agency said, “Through this ‘Moobium ESG Sharing Resource Recycling’ project, we will further internalize ESG management, such as reducing greenhouse gases, and strive to create a sustainable environment in the future.”

Meanwhile, the Korea Organ Donation Agency, as the only organ and tissue procurement agency in Korea and a public institution under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, plans to promote more active greenhouse gas reduction and social contribution activities in the fields of environmental conservation and resource management through this agreement.
