MegaZone Cloud (CEO Dong-Hoon Yeom), a leading AI and cloud company, has signed a strategic collaboration agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and is moving to strengthen cooperation in three key areas, including AI.
SCA is an agreement that companies sign with partners to maintain strategic and long-term cooperation beyond the usual partnership. Through SCA, the two companies plan to support customers in ▲ accelerating generative AI innovation ▲ cloud migration and modernization ▲ expanding global presence through the AWS Marketplace.
In the field of generative AI, MegaZone Cloud plans to discover opportunities for companies in various industries such as manufacturing, finance, and retail to enhance business performance by utilizing AI, and to systematically support the introduction of generative AI. To this end, AWS plans to provide MegaZone Cloud with the latest cloud AI technology training such as Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Nova. MegaZone Cloud plans to focus on developing generative AI use cases for each industry by utilizing AWS technology, and supporting customers to smoothly transition from the pilot stage to the actual operation stage, thereby leading to business performance. In addition, it plans to expand cooperation with companies and create new business opportunities through various face-to-face contact opportunities such as on-site seminars.
MegaZone Cloud is helping customers create real business values, such as simplifying the generative AI adoption process, improving product quality management, and optimizing resources, with its own service 'GenAI360' that provides comprehensive support from consulting to construction and operation. Major companies such as Hansol Paper, HY (formerly Korea Yakult), and Hana Tour have already successfully built user-friendly generative AI using AWS's generative AI service and GenAI360, and plan to support business innovation of more diverse companies through this agreement. In particular, in November last year, it was selected as the only domestic partner of AWS's 'Generative AI Partner Innovation Alliance', proving its expertise and competitiveness in the generative AI field.
In the field of cloud migration and modernization, MegaZone Cloud plans to support large-scale workload conversion by combining its solution, HyperMig, with the AWS Migration Framework. HyperMig is a solution that comprehensively supports the entire process from the initial stage of collecting, diagnosing, and analyzing infrastructure and system data to establishing and executing migration strategies. Using HyperMig can help shorten migration time, reduce risks, and increase accuracy.
MegaZone Cloud provides professional support to help companies smoothly transition to a cloud native environment based on its migration center organization and over 500 technical personnel. Through this SCA, MegaZone Cloud plans to propose migration strategies optimized for various industries such as manufacturing and finance, and support efficient digital transformation of companies. AWS will provide dedicated solution architects to educate MegaZone Cloud to cope with AWS’s latest technologies and to strengthen its cloud technology capabilities.
In the AWS Marketplace sector, MegaZone Cloud plans to focus on increasing the accessibility of cloud-based software and services for domestic and international independent software developers (ISVs). AWS Marketplace is an online platform that supports searching, using, purchasing, distributing, and managing solutions from AWS partners.
MegaZone Cloud plans to form partnerships and support approximately 110 ISVs optimized for the AWS environment to effectively promote and sell their software through the AWS Marketplace. To this end, it plans to establish a dedicated organization and regularly hold ISV conferences, AWS Marketplace seminars, and meetup events to promote exchanges between customers and ISVs, thereby increasing the utilization of the AWS Marketplace.
Ham Ki-ho, CEO of AWS Korea, said, “AWS is helping companies of all sizes innovate with the latest cloud technologies such as generative AI,” and added, “By combining AWS’s generative AI, migration, and modernization services with MegaZone Cloud’s expertise, we will provide various benefits to customers, such as strengthening customer competitiveness in various industries and increasing accessibility to cloud solutions through AWS Marketplace, and contribute to the domestic digital economy.”
MegaZone Cloud CEO Dong-Hoon Yeom said, “This SCA signing will be an opportunity for a new leap forward in cloud innovation following the cooperation between the two companies over the past 12 years,” and “We will do our best to provide practical help in enhancing our customers’ business competitiveness through strategic cooperation in three key areas.”
MegaZone Cloud and MegaZone affiliates have become the first unicorn companies in the domestic cloud MSP industry based on approximately 2,800 cloud experts, and achieved sales of KRW 1.5106 trillion in 2023. In addition to Korea, they also operate local corporations in eight countries overseas, including the US, Japan, Canada, Australia, Shanghai/Beijing, China, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
