Jeju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (hereinafter referred to as Jeju Center) announced that it has invested seed money in Caresix Co., Ltd., a pet tech company developing a companion animal health monitoring system.
Caresix Co., Ltd. is developing a wearable device that can monitor the surgical and recovery status, chronic diseases, etc. of patient dogs (cats) with the goal of extending the life expectancy of companion animals, and has won two innovation awards in the wearable category at the 2023 CES (Consumer Electronics Show). The company is the first in the world to apply ballistic cardiography (BCG) technology to a wearable device for companion dogs (cats), providing the function to check biosignals (heart rate, respiratory rate, body temperature, electrocardiogram) and clinical signals (urination, defecation, coughing, exercise volume, etc.) in real time.
Caresix Co., Ltd.'s main products include 'Sense 1 VET', an emergency monitoring system for animal hospitals, 'Sense 1 Guardian', a monitoring system for pets recovering from surgery or with chronic diseases, and 'Sense 1 Home', an early disease prediction system. These products are equipped with an automatic vital check function, so that when abnormal data occurs, information is quickly transmitted to the veterinarian in charge and the guardian, allowing for early treatment.
Caresix Co., Ltd. is also participating in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province's 'Listed Company Promotion Support Project', and since its first product launch in 2023, it has installed the product in 42 animal hospitals and plans to install it in 40 more animal hospitals in the future. In addition, it has secured sales channels through partnerships with IntoVetGE, an animal hospital electronic chart with the largest market share in Korea, and IntoCNS Co., Ltd., which operates the Intopet App service.
Through this seed money investment, Jeju Center has completed direct investment in 35 companies so far, and has invested in a total of 46 companies through individuals, venture capital groups, and mother funds. Jeju Center has been investing seed money in promising startups using Jeju Special Self-Governing Province’s subsidy since 2018.
