Korea Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Technology (KEVIT) announced that its smart control slow charger has been selected as a leading industrial convergence product in 2024, setting a new standard for electric vehicle chargers.
The KEVIT smart control slow charger meets the 2025 Ministry of Environment requirements and is equipped with a SECC (Smart Electric Car Charger) that can respond to the international standard ISO15118, allowing real-time monitoring of the vehicle battery level (SoC). This function not only improves battery charging efficiency, but also maximizes user convenience by checking vehicle information to enable automatic charging and payment. In addition, it is evaluated that it will contribute to promoting convergence between the electric vehicle charging industry and the energy management market by securing power grid stability by preventing additional power generation and increasing the efficiency of the entire energy industry, and as a result, it was selected for the 2024 Industrial Convergence Leading Product Review.
A KEVIT official emphasized, “If smart-controlled slow chargers are installed in dense areas with high electricity demand, the safety of the power grid will be increased while providing customers with flexible rate plans, providing economic benefits,” and “In the future, smart-controlled slow chargers will become a medium that promotes convergence between the energy industry and the electric vehicle charging industry.”
