Healing Paper, the operator of 'Gangnam Unnie', announced on the 14th that it signed a business agreement with the Seomyeon Medical Street (SmS) Medical Tourism Council to promote foreign medical tourism.
Under this agreement, the two parties will provide customized cosmetic medical information and conduct joint marketing for foreign tourists visiting dermatology and plastic surgery clinics in the Busan area. The goal is to contribute to the development of the Korean medical tourism industry and the revitalization of the Busan regional economy through collaboration between mobile platforms and regional councils.
Since April of last year, Gangnam Unnie has been focusing on nationwide expansion centered on Busan, and has been providing nationwide hospital information to domestic and foreign consumers seeking Korean beauty care beyond the beauty care demand concentrated in Gangnam-gu and Seocho-gu in Seoul. Accordingly, in the second half of 2024, the number of users requesting consultations for Busan hospitals increased twice as fast as that of Gangnam, and the number of hospitals registered in Busan also grew 1.5 times faster than that of Gangnam.
In addition, Gangnam Unnie has been providing Korean hospital search and reservation services to foreign tourists since November 2019, and currently, 7 million users from 104 countries including Japan, Thailand, and the United States are searching for cosmetic medical information and conducting mobile consultations and reservations through Gangnam Unnie.
The Seomyeon Medical Street Medical Tourism Council has been promoting related policy improvements and marketing activities to revitalize medical tourism in Busan since 2009. It is leading the way in attracting foreign medical tourists through a network of hospitals and medical tourism-related organizations located on Seomyeon Medical Street, Busan’s medical specialty street.
Lim Hyeon-geun, the Chief Business Officer of Healing Paper, said, “Gangnam Unnie is upgrading its platform to promote the competitiveness of Korean aesthetic medicine to the world and to maximize the medical service experience between medical professionals and consumers,” and “We will strengthen collaboration so that foreign tourists can easily find aesthetic medicine hospitals in Busan.”
Kim Byeong-jun, chairman of the Medical Tourism Council of Seomyeon Medical Street, said, “The synergy between the platform influence of Gangnam Unnie and the network of this council will be of great help in promoting Korean aesthetic medicine and revitalizing the local economy.”
