Document AI specialist Romin (CEO Ji-Hong Kang) announced on the 14th that it had received a commendation from the Minister of Science and ICT for its contribution to the development of digital technology in the postal service.
Last year, Romin successfully demonstrated the results of digital transformation by conducting a pilot operation of an AI OCR-based handwriting recognition system in cooperation with the Postal Service Headquarters.
TextScope® Studio, Romin's document AI platform, aims to improve work efficiency and the quality of customer service by automating postal work that was previously handled manually through collaboration. The pilot operation conducted at the actual Dongjak Post Office and Nambucheon Post Office proved the effectiveness of digital technology and was evaluated to have provided an important turning point for the future digital strategy of the Korea Post.
In addition, Romin's handwriting recognition technology precisely recognizes various handwritings, reduces document processing errors, and alleviates the burden of repetitive work on counter staff. It also enhances the quality of counter services by simultaneously increasing the speed and accuracy of work through automatic address correction and data verification functions.
Kang Ji-hong, CEO of Romin, said, “Our collaboration with the Postal Service Headquarters has become a significant turning point in redefining the future of public services through AI-based task automation. Building on the pilot project successfully completed last year, we will do our best to provide better services to the public by expanding the application of TextScope® beyond postal and logistics to various business areas such as deposits and insurance this year.”
Meanwhile, Romin is the only document AI company in Korea that holds all the certifications of the Republic of Korea Innovation Product (designated by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy), NEP (new product), and NET (new technology), and is attracting attention in the public sector market through its designation as an excellent procurement item last year.
