Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Signs MOU with Changwon National University

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence announced on the 10th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Changwon National University at the Changwon National University headquarters to foster software experts in the smart manufacturing field.

The signing ceremony was attended by Park Min-won, president of Changwon National University, and Brian Sung, CEO of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Korea, who signed the agreement and pledged to cooperate in fostering specialized personnel in the smart manufacturing field and establishing an industry-academia cooperation system.

Through this agreement, the two organizations will support education and research for the development of software experts in the smart manufacturing field and provide linkage support for the growth of key personnel and supporting companies. In addition, Hexagon plans to support facilities and software for education and research in the cooperation field, and they have agreed to actively cooperate on other mutual needs.

After signing the agreement, Hexagon’s Lee Woo-young, the head of headquarters, gave a special presentation on the topic of ‘Digital Industry-Academia-Research Campus through Hexagon Autonomous Manufacturing and AI Solutions’. The head of headquarters emphasized the importance of autonomy and AI technology convergence, and presented a vision for the autonomy of the entire manufacturing cycle beyond the Industry 4.0 era. He also explained that the introduction of a data-based decision-making system for manufacturing companies is essential, and the importance of building a digital campus and developing AI and data capabilities for fostering future talent in the Changwon and Gyeongnam regions.

President Park Min-won said, “Through industry-academia cooperation with Hexagon, we hope to foster software experts in the smart manufacturing field and lead the digital transformation of the local manufacturing industry.” He also said, “Through cooperation between the two institutions, we will strengthen AI and data-based education and research capabilities and lead smart manufacturing innovation in the Gyeongnam region.”
