Some Technologies Changes Corporate Communications from Meeting Minutes to Customer Support

– Sequential launch of 4 AI-based solutions including meeting solutions

– “We will transform unstructured data into corporate assets”

-“Leading the era of ‘AI agent’ beyond ‘AI transformation’”

Some Technologies is leading the innovation of corporate communication by sequentially launching four AI-based solutions.

“Beyond AI Transformation (AX), which uses AI to transform unstructured data into corporate assets, an era will come in which AI agents will communicate with each other and process tasks.”

CEO Jae-won Jeong of Some Technologies

At the SKT AI Lab for Startups in COEX, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, CEO Jae-won Jeong of Some Technologies shared his outlook on the present and future of corporate communication. Some Technologies is focusing on solving the problems of information overload and disconnection in corporate communication by utilizing AI technology.

CEO Jeong emphasized, “Although it will take time for AI to gain trust, it will gradually replace the role of humans in various fields.” CEO Jeong explained that the first step in AI transformation should be to “clearly define the problem to be solved.” It is in this context that Some Technologies chose “conversation” as its first solution. Conversation is universal data that occurs in all companies and is also a problem that needs to be solved.

The mission, which combines the word "thumb" and "technologies," contains the goal of presenting the best AI technology. Thumb Technologies, which has been growing rapidly in the corporate AI solution market, has laid the foundation for a further leap forward by being selected for the "AI Startup Accelerator 2nd" program jointly operated by SK Telecom and Hana Bank in 2024. Thumb Technologies attracted initial investments from Naver, Kakao Ventures, and Future Play when it was founded in 2021, and attracted additional seed investment from Company K Partners in 2024.

■ AI solution that turns unstructured data into assets

Some Technologies is developing four core solutions. First, the meeting solution is a B2B AI-based automatic meeting minutes generation solution. The meeting solution supports team organization and sharing functions and integration with various apps such as Google/Outlook Calendar, Zoom, Teams, and Salesforce. In particular, it is characterized by systematically organizing meeting contents to realize ‘meeting assetization.’ It is currently undergoing OBT and is scheduled for official launch this year. CEO Jeong explained the features of the meeting solution, saying, “While existing products focus on transcription, Some Technologies is a B2B specialized meeting minutes that systematically organizes meeting minutes, analyzes topics, and derives action items.”

Second, the sales solution is a solution that automatically analyzes the context of sales conversations, creates sales logs, and is linked to CRM. Some Technologies has developed 13 business context analysis frameworks by adding essential elements for B2B SaaS companies such as competition, team size, and technology stack to BANT (Budget, Authority, Needs, Timeline) and MEDDIC (Metrics, Economic Buyer, Decision Criteria, Decision Process, Pain Points, Champion), which are representative B2B sales methodologies in the US. Based on this framework, it automatically analyzes the customer's background, needs, and decision-making process. The sales solution is currently undergoing CBT.

Third, the analysis solution is a solution that analyzes text-based business context and deeply analyzes qualitative conversation data. It is characterized by providing advanced analysis at the sentence level beyond simple keyword analysis. It is used to derive insights for establishing product strategies by analyzing customer feedback coming from multiple channels.

Lastly, the customer support solution provides a 24-hour AI chatbot service. It supports customized chatbot learning for businesses and uses natural language processing using RAG technology to understand the intent of customers’ questions and provide quick and accurate responses.

Some Technologies plans to launch meeting solutions, sales solutions, and analytics solutions within this year, and aims to launch customer support solutions next year.

CEO Jeong Jae-won explains the solution developed by Some Technologies.
■ Technological differentiation

Some Technologies has developed an STT model that shows high accuracy, especially in the technical field, by training over 7,000 hours of technical terminology data. Considering the characteristics of conference voices coming in through the microphone, the model was implemented to be robust against background noise.

Our self-developed small language model (SLM) can obtain more stable results in areas where accuracy is important, such as business context analysis, and has the advantage of being able to directly control accuracy and being lightweight.

Some Technologies selectively utilizes LLM and VLM (Vision Language Model). LLM is mainly used for fine-tuning summarization functions, while VLM provides the ability to process visual information and text together.

■ Grow by securing large companies as partners

Some Technologies is working closely with major domestic corporations such as LG CNS, LG U+, LG Electronics, SK Telecom, SK Broadband, and Hana Bank during the beta version testing phase, and some of these companies have already signed formal purchase contracts.

CEO Jeong explained, “In the B2B SaaS market, the ‘80:20 rule’ applies, where the top 20% of customers account for 80% of total sales. Securing large Korean companies with global competitiveness as partners from the beginning has become the key to stable growth.”

■ Realizing Amazon’s ‘Customer First’ Management Philosophy

CEO Jeong served as a senior product manager at Amazon headquarters from 2017 to 2021. CEO Jeong, who was interested in developing a game streaming platform using machine learning, chose Amazon as a place where he could realize this. During his tenure, he participated in the launch of the game streaming platform 'Amazon Luna' and achieved innovative results.

CEO Jeong is experimenting with grafting Amazon's management philosophy and culture onto Some Technologies. Amazon emphasizes 13 leadership principles, and the most important leadership principle is 'Customer Obsession.' This goes beyond the superficial meaning of simply being customer-centric, and means focusing all capabilities on deeply understanding and solving customer problems. Some Technologies has accepted this principle as the company's core value and is reflecting it in its product development and service provision processes.

In the product development process, Amazon's PR/FAQ method is being adopted. The key is to write a one-page business proposal called 'One Pager' and then write a more detailed six-page PR/FAQ document. This document is composed of a press release (PR) format assuming the product is launched and expected questions and answers (FAQ). When planning a new product or service, Some Technologies uses the PR/FAQ method as a useful tool for maintaining the customer's perspective and communicating internally.

■ Preparing for the AI Agent Era

“Before starting a transaction, companies collect and analyze a huge amount of information about the other company. If each company has its own AI agent, the AI agents of the buyer and seller will be able to automatically exchange and communicate the necessary information. This will completely change the paradigm of how companies do business.”

CEO Jeong predicted the innovation in corporate communication that AI technology will bring. He explained that the enormous amount of money and time that companies currently invest in marketing and sales activities will undergo groundbreaking changes due to the development of AI technology.

The industry is focusing on what changes Some Technologies' AI transformation and AI agent-based corporate communication innovation will bring to the business world.
