Ecocreation Co., Ltd. (CEO Jeon Beom-geun) , a leading company in eco-friendly pyrolysis technology, announced on the 9th that it passed the technology evaluation for KOSDAQ technology special listing on the 8th.
Ecocreation operates a business supplying waste plastic pyrolysis facilities and related oil refining plants based on pyrolysis oil refining technology. Unlike conventional incineration, pyrolysis indirectly heats waste plastic in an oxygen-free environment. This process allows for more environmentally friendly waste disposal than incineration, which causes various air pollution problems. It also offers the advantage of producing pyrolysis oil as a byproduct.
Ecocreation possesses the technology to produce high-quality refined pyrolysis oil by reforming, removing, and separating various components, such as wax, chlorine, ink residues, and naphtha, through a pyrolysis oil plant equipped with proprietary catalysts and refining equipment. The company passed the installation inspection of its waste plastic pyrolysis facility at its subsidiary, E&C Yeoncheon Plant. This marks the first successful inspection since the Ministry of Environment established legal standards for pyrolysis production plants in 2023.
In addition, the company has successfully commercialized electricity generation using waste plastic pyrolysis oil for the first time in the world, and has been recognized for its related technological prowess by supplying high-quality refined pyrolysis oil to large domestic oil refineries for use as an eco-friendly refining raw material in accordance with the amendment to the Petroleum and Petroleum Alternative Business Act last year. Based on this, Eco Creation has agreed to supply a pyrolysis plant capable of processing more than 20,000 tons of waste plastic per year to a waste disposal company located in Gyeongju at the end of 2023, and the installation is scheduled to be completed and put into full operation within the first half of this year.
After passing this technology assessment, Ecocreation plans to apply for a preliminary listing review with the Korea Exchange with the goal of listing on the KOSDAQ technology special listing within the year.
